Texas A&M University-San Antonio welcomed hundreds of prospective students and their families to campus Saturday, Oct. 17, for Future Jaguar Day, a free event highlighting the University’s academic programs, campus resources and student experience.
The event provided high school, transfer and graduate students with opportunities to explore campus, connect with admissions counselors and financial aid advisors, and learn more about the pathways available to pursue higher education at A&M–San Antonio. Faculty and staff, including University President Salvador Hector Ochoa, helped introduce attendees to the campus community and the resources available to support student success.
“I first heard about Future Jaguar Day after visiting the campus for an event earlier in the year,” said Roxana Cruz, an undergraduate transfer student who will join the University next fall. “I really like the campus and its overall vibe. It has such a welcoming environment.”
Designed to help prospective students and their families make informed decisions about college, Future Jaguar Day provides a firsthand look at what shapes the Jaguar experience.
Vanessa C. Torres, assistant vice president of enrollment marketing and recruitment, said the special event is about helping students find their place at the University. “When students and their families experience our campus and learn about the opportunities available to them, A&M-San Antonio becomes more than a university they’ve heard about — it becomes a place where they can picture their future,” she said.
Serving nearly 7,700 students, A&M-San Antonio continues to expand its academic programs and campus facilities to meet the needs of a growing student population. Currently, the University offers 39 undergraduate and 24 graduate degree programs, including the first-ever doctoral program, a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership, which launched in Fall 2026. Next fall, the University is rolling out a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences.
Prospective students who missed their chance to attend Future Jaguar Day are welcome to attend one of the University’s daily campus visit opportunities. The spring Future Jaguar Day is scheduled for Saturday, March 20, 2027. Learn more at BecomeAJaguar.com.
